1959-1964	CENTRAL FINE ART INSTITUTE OF CHINA B.A. 1964. Majored in Decorative Fine Art and Frescoes at the institute. The Presentation art work for graduation "Fishing Songs" (90 x 90cm) and "Return from Harvest" (80 x 160cm) have been collected by Artist Association of China.
1964-1975	DUNHUANG CULTURAL RELIC INSTITUTE OF CHINA Engaged in copying, researching the Dunhuang Mural and creating art works which inherited Dunhuang Mural style. Served as director of the institute and supervised research works and art creating work of the research fellows and artists at the institute. Major Scholarly Research: "Inheriting Dunhuang Mural Art with a Critical Mind", "On Dunhuang Mural Art". Major Art Work: Numerous copies of representative Fresco from each of China's Dynasties. Fine brushwork of "Traditional Friendship" (200 x 200cm), "Dance . Music . God of Followers" (Serial, 60 x 60cm).
1975-1981	ARTIST ASSOCIATION OF CHINA. GANSU CHAPTER Served as a professional artist, pioneered the "Dunhuang School". Substantial art work in traditional Chinese painting, oil, sketch of Fresco and calligraphy were exhibited on numerous national and international art exhibitions. Major Art Work: Periodical mural art work include "Rebirth of an Ancient Place" (500 x 800cm), created at the request of Gansu Province Government for the newly built Lanzhou Railroad Station. "The Heavenly Water That is the Yellow River" (180 x 360cm), created at the request of the Central Government of China for the State Guest Hall of Beijing International Airport. Other representative art work include "The Tale of a Gold Deer"' "Gesaer King", etc.
1981-present	HUNAN FINE ART PUBLISHING HOUSE Served as editor, and executive editor-in-chief of the Publishing House, in addition, as editor-in-chief of the well-known magazine "Painter". During this period of time, created considerable well-recognized art works which were selected for exhibitions both at home and abroad and published several theoretical art books. Visiting professor at University of Xiangtan and Hunan School of Industrial art on Fresco Art, Chinese traditional Painting and Buddhist Art of China. Major Academic Publications: "The Culture of West Region and the Art of Dunhuang", "Decorative Art of China and Other Foreign Countries", and "Reflections on Dunhuang Art". The latter was used as text book by Hong Kong University Extension. Major Art Work: Major mural art work include "Soul of the Chu" (3200 x 400cm), at the request of the Hunan Province Government for Hunan Province Library; "The Wonderful Land", (800 x 200cm), at the request of GuangXi Autonomous Region Government for Guilin State Guest House; "The Cradle of Wisdom", at the request of Hunan Province Government for Hunan Children Library. The latter won prestigious art work award at the 7th National Expo of Distinguished Arts. Other representative work include 12 Chinese fine art work for Beijing People's Art Publishing House and Hong Kong Art Products Company; 10 poetic paintings based on the most renowned Chinese poetry "The songs of Chu"; "Life in a Banana Grove" (300 x 120cm), "Spring River" (600 x 160cm), "Rising High", at the request of a Japanese architectural design company; "Melody of Spring" (550 x 220cm), "Song of Joy" (550 x 220cm) at the request of Robert Su in Los Angeles.
HONORS	Art work were invited to many national and international art exhibitions, won numerous awards and were collected by art museums as well as private collectors, praised by Chinese senior leader Deng Xiaoping, then Li Xiannian, etc. Recognized and selected by "Encyclopedia of China", "Encyclopedia of New Chinese Art and Culture", "Yearbook of Chinese Fresco", "Who's Who of Contemporary Chinese Artist", "Who's Who of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers", "Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Painters" and "Who's Who of Chinese Fine Brush Art Work".
